The Tin Ticket: The Heroic Journey of Australia’s Convict Women explores a largely neglected piece of women’s history in a riveting true-life saga.  Join us as author Deborah Swiss tells the story of three remarkable survivors, ordinary women who lived extraordinary lives as they triumphed over tragedy, relying on their resiliency and strength alongside friendships with one another. After Deborah’s talk, Boston singer/songwriter Digney Fignus will perform "All for Love," a song he wrote to honor the women in the book and survivors everywhere.

The Tin Ticket will be of interest to history buffs, book clubs, and anyone interested in reading a compelling tale about the human spirit.  It will be released in paperback on November 1, 2011 (copies available for purchase at the event) and has been optioned for a feature film by EVN Productions.  Deborah has a link on her website that includes discussion questions for book clubs: ttp://www.deborahswiss.com/book_clubs.html
